Arquitectes de Capçalera

Initially, Arquitectes de Capçalera is a teaching project that began in June 2013 in a convulsive moment in the ETSAB School where students took the initiative to claim different teaching programs closer to reality at a time of deep crisis. From the subject 'Habitatge i Ciutat' (Housing and City), the professor and partners Ibon Bilbao and Josep Bohigas heeded that request and decided to get involved and develop an academic proposal that would put the future architects in contact with the citizens. So they created, at the end of the year, an altered teaching in which teachers and students, in a voluntary way, create an alternative program that responded to the demands of the students. Arquitectes de Capçalera began working on the relationship between the city and housing throughout the gradient that goes from the public to the domestic, from the street to the bed ... always using the building as a complex element of study because, in turn, it was the maximum exponent of collective housing.
