Marjan Tepina

Ljubljana, Slovenia
1 of 2Janez Zrnec

Marjan Tepina was one of students of Jože Plečnik. He was working in the studio of Le Corbusier and later collaborated with Edvard Ravnikar. Between 1961 and 1967 was a president of the City Council of Ljubljana, and later become a director of the Urban Planning Institute of Slovenia.

Plan For Urban Development Of Ljubljana

Tepina carried out the first post-war plan for the urban development of Ljubljana, which got its present image with roads, green belts and city business centre. The plan was a basis for many business buildings such as Metalka. Although a large archeological heritage was discovered, some of the most famous buildings, such as Kozler's mansion (at the site of today's Konzorcij), have always been destroyed and replaced by modernistic architecture.
