Rolf Rave, together with Hans-Joachim Knöfel, published a series of architecture guides for building in Berlin from 1963, thereby making an important contribution to the city's urban discourse. From the 1960s onwards, together with his brother Jan Rave, he ran the architectural firm Rave Architects, where Roosje Rave has been a partner since 1990. They created a large number of residential buildings, most of which corresponded to the spirit of their time and yet tried again and again to break out of the ordinary.
